The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning discusses joint cooperation with the Senior Political Advisor in the Office of the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme “Habitat”

Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, received Her Excellency Dr. Shipra Narang Suri, Senior Political Advisor in the Executive Director’s Office of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), on the sidelines of her participation in the Innovation in Social Housing Sector Conference 2025.

During the meeting, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning reviewed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in providing suitable housing for citizens, in line with programs and periodic reports that align with the objectives of UN-Habitat. She noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to develop innovative programs and ideas to provide suitable housing for citizens, and to expand programs and partnerships with the private sector to accelerate the delivery of housing services, contributing to building safe and sustainable communities.

Minister Al Romaihi praised the efforts of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in supporting initiatives to provide adequate housing and promote sustainable development, thereby contributing to achieving housing security and building stable communities.

For her part, Dr. Shipra Narang Suri, Senior Political Advisor in the Executive Director’s Office of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, commended the Kingdom of Bahrain’s initiative, represented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, in organizing the Innovation in Social Housing Sector Conference, which contributes to the exchange of ideas and visions in this important field. She also praised Bahrain’s pioneering experience in providing suitable housing for citizens and its innovative approaches to delivering this essential and important service to citizens.
