On the sidelines of the 2025 Social Housing Innovation Conference and Exhibition, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese company CMEC.

Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, received Mr. Wang Bo, Chairman of the Chinese company CMEC, on the sidelines of the Innovation in Social Housing Sector Conference and Exhibition 2025, in the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.

During the meeting, ways to enhance partnership between the two sides during the upcoming phase were reviewed, particularly following the signing of a memorandum of understanding to provide housing projects under the umbrella of the Government Land Development Rights program, and the project to provide more than 3,000 housing units and apartments in Khalifa City.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning stated that the Government Land Development Rights program represents one of the tracks through which the Ministry works in partnership with the sector to provide suitable housing for citizens, noting that the program offers promising opportunities to strengthen public-private partnership in delivering housing services to citizens and improving the quality of housing services.

The discussion also addressed the progress of current partnership projects, including the implementation by the Chinese company of phases of Sitra Housing City, in addition to reviewing the outcomes of the recent visit made by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning to the People’s Republic of China.

For his part, Mr. Wang Bo praised the outcomes of the Innovation in Social Housing Sector Conference and Exhibition, which provides promising opportunities for partnership with the government sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the work tracks and programs introduced by the Ministry to provide suitable housing for citizens.
